We take a boat trip to see Fort Boyard

Made famous by the TV game show of the same name, we take a boat trip from La Rochelle to visit Fort Boyard.
This Napoleonic fortress is an impressive sight to see standing proud in the middle of the sea.
On our way we also pass The Richelieu tower, marking the dyke that was part of the blockade of La Rochelle in 1628.
And, another top tourist sight en route is The Lighthouse At The End Of The World. This lighthouse on stilts is a replica of the famous lighthouse in San Juan del Salvamento in Argentina. It was immortalised by Jules Verne, and this famous reconstruction was built in 2000 by André Bronner.
