This is a sad ending. Knowing you escaped a sinking boat but also knowing that you will drown anyway since you're in the middle of a violent ocean during a hurricane. Also the first time I saw the movie and it showed him going over the waves after his speech, I was thinking, if only the Andrea Gail had made it over the rouge wave, the boat could have still been going on the waves that she had been going over the entire storm and possibly could have made it through the storm. Kind of sad.

Although I didn't like the movie that much, this was kind of a sad ending. What a sad way to die, and he never really got to tell her these words, before he died, but he seemed to die doing what he loved, in an amazing sea.
