War Thunder is a very good simulation of how it would feel to be shot down 😢

So, did you know, you have these things called hands, and you can actually use them to grab the canopy handles and slide them back. Then guess what, with no canopy in your way you can so this cool things called jumping out of the cockpit. Really cool. Then you can once again use your hands in a pulling motion to deploy your parachute and float safely to the ground 😱🤯

Edit: im sorry some of you don't understand that pilots did jump out of their burning aircraft (if they were at a high enough altitude) during world war 2. They had these things called parachutes.

Plenty of pilots bailed out, in fact some pilots would bail out even if the plane was still flyable. Having an enemy fighter on your tail raking you with mg and cannon fire would be terrifying. If you survived the first pass or volley it was smart to bail. Pilots were also taught proper bail techniques to mitigate the chances of hitting the tail.

Most of these pilots never knew that they wouldn't be going home. Especially the younger pilots who just came out of the Air Force fresh and new, and they were send straight into battlefield not knowing how tuff a battle can be and not knowing if they were going to go home or witness their last moment inaide their cockpits as their plane spins out of control and they can't parachute out their plane due to their plane spinning too much or because they've been shot at and they're losing strength so all they can do is look around as they're approaching the ground fast.

That's when you hop out the plane. Like ww2 pilots commonly did when not already dead.

You relize they dont die so easily they can go on to the wing when its about to crash and jump they only get a minor sprain
