Belgian Liege Waffle: Rate my first try

I made a Belgian Liege waffle for the first time! There are two types of Belgian waffles:

Brussels Waffle, and Liege Waffle

Brussels Waffle uses a thinner batter and has a lighter texture
Liege Waffle uses a thicker dough and has a chewier texture.

an other great topping is cherries in syrup, you can get these around the netherlands and belgium in a jar, you cook the syrup for a bit add a tiny bit of corn starch to thicken it, add the cherries from the jar to the sauce you just made, heat the cherries through and then serve on a just made waffle with vanilla ice cream. enjoy❤

I remember having the packaged ones from Costco as a kid, and then i couldn't find them anywhere. But i never forgot about them and craved them frequently lol. Thankfully i learned how they were made but never got around to making them myself. Then one fateful day earlier this year i found them AGAIN at costco and I have never purchased anything so fast lol. Hoping they stick around a little longer but I'll be keeping this video in my back pocket just in case!

On a whim I bought a liege waffle (prepared and packaged, room temp) from whole foods. NOT what I was expecting, but I loved it! Very filling with a sweet-salty vibe. I didn't know they used pearl sugar but that explains a lot!

The best thing on Liege Waffles is BISCOFF COOKIE BUTTER, whipped cream and loads of strawberries and raspberries. There's a place called Waffle Luv that makes these called the Red Wonder! Absolutely amazing ❤

There used to be a restaurant in Portland Oregon that served this style waffle in their chicken and waffles dish. It was delicious. In case you need something to do with the rest of the batter. 😊
