Back in 2014, a young singer-songwriter by the name of Duncan de Moor walked onto The Voice of Holland stage. His Blind Audition got the attention of Coach Ilse DeLange, who ended up choosing. This ended up being a golden combination. Together they made it all the way to the semi-finals, but what happened after The Voice was even bigger. He changed his name to Duncan Laurence and with the help of his former Coach Ilse, he represented The Netherlands during the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest, which he WON! So talented (and handsome too). Outside of the U.S. the Voice appears to really propel singers to careers as recording artists. I watched a "best of the Voice" compilation and not one American contestant was featured. Other singers from all over the world had multiple number one albums, music awards and other success. Duncan rode his opportunity all the way to Eurovision. Congrats to him for not stopping after not winning the Voice and for continuing to put in the work to make his music career a reality.

Edit: I posted my original comment 9 months ago never having heard of Duncan before this video as I live in the U.S. Fast forward to now and I work at a store that plays all kinds of music some of which I have never heard previously but like. Occasionally a song with a lyric of "loving you is a losing game" plays and reminds me of a relationship I had a number of years ago. Rewatching this video I am reminded that I've heard the song before as it is Arcade, Duncan's Eurovision winning song. Hope he gets some attention in the U.S. as he is very talented.
