I grew up on a dairy farm. We didn’t drink our own raw milk. Not because it wasn’t as clean as possible, but because we knew better.

Medical student (future doctor) here, when someone says they are a scientist, that does not equal understanding health / being trustworthy as an expert. A lot of those people got just an undergrad degree, or they got an advanced degree in something very specific, went down a rabbit hole, and then pretend they know everything about everything. Not how it works.

Birth control can cause a lot of side effects so if you're experiencing very low mental state super regularly, talk to your doctor about it and switch to a different pill or a different method of contraception (like an IUD). If your doctor dismisses you or just sucks, look for a different one, ask the women you know for recommendations, ask on social media. Do NOT just ditch birth control altogether!
Personally, I started noticing that there were 1-2 days a month when I would suddenly feel 100 times more anxious than normal, all I wanted to do was cry on my pillow all day, it wasn't related to anything that was happening in my life, it would happen every four weeks like clockwork and just go away on its own. Talked to my doc, she prescribed a different pill, and now I feel normal and like myself. Sure, sometimes I feel down but it's not debilitating and it doesn't come out of nowhere like it used to

Lol ok so re the neuroscience guy, as someone who is also a neuroscientist (meaning a phd in neuroscience) i can say with 100% certainty our curriculum (and all curriculums that ever existed ever for this) include exactly zero information that would make us sunscreen experts. I’m baffled and horrified he would use his degree just to fearmonger when he’s actually not qualified at all, and in my own field too

my mom is a neuropsychologist who studies memory. she still makes me wear sunscreen and I am grateful for that lol.

The “stand up” reminders from the watch are actually really helpful if you hyper focus, forget to take breaks, can’t tell when you need to stretch etc. when I started working in an office and sat a lot it was really helpful (I’m just forgetful so I forget to change it 💔)

I'm glad you included that birth control is often used to non-pregnancy reasons as well. It's SO important to have access to a medication that can prevent me from having debilitating ovarian cysts that constantly rupture, disrupting my life and, guess what pro-lifers! Making it HARDER to become pregnant when that time comes!!

I am sorry to hear that you've had a bad experience with Gyns. I promise, not all gyn/obgyns are trying to push you out ASAP and some are incredible. It's just a matter of finding one that works well for you.

There are also SO MANY different types of birth control that it's infuriating that these people are like "I stopped the pill and my life is cured" like???? maybe THAT combo of hormones weren't working for you??? or you could even get a copper IUD and have no hormones attached to your birth control? idk it just makes me so upset that people can be so negative and flippant towards reproductive health and people having CHOICE.

Girl, at least once a week, I have a patient in my exam room who’s never left the west coast of the US, utterly convinced because she heard on ticktock that everyone had parasites, and that’s obviously the cause of her GERD. 🤦🏻‍♀️ That and the “balance my hormones” ladies. I want to cry at the end of the day after dealing with nonsense misinformation all day.

THANK YOU for bringing up anti birth control talk! i'd been dealing with ovarian cyst pain/ruptures the past few months and got on birth control recently so i didn't have to deal with the pain anymore (& spending money on hospital visits when i get a rupture lol). i hate the fearmongering of people saying "well, it didn't work for me so it's bad and nobody should use it!" when it improves the quality of life for so many

“This guy is a neuroscientist, so I can’t check him on not being a doctor” is part of his pitch, but medical fields are specialised. You wouldn’t ask a dermatologist to study your brain, and you wouldn’t ask a neuroscientist about your skin.

Growing up, my mom would buy milk fresh from the cow (she literally would, she was the one out of her siblings who was sent to go buy it). They ALWAYS boiled it, ALWAYS

Pro tip: you can get 2packs of Pilates style grippy socks at Marshall’s/tj maxx for $8. I love wearing them around the house because I have all hardwood floors and a baby to carry around, we can’t be slipping down these stairs!

I distinctly remember doing a blogilates abs workout in my 1-bedroom studio one gloomy winter day and bawling my eyes out at the same time because my life sucked lol.

I really appreciate the blend of nuance, humor and educational value in your content, Tyler!! The first content I ever saw from you was your Red 40 maxing videos, and I appreciate that your long-form content holds up (not all short-form content creators can do both)! Hope you have a great day 💛✨
