Well to be fair, Slave 1 is the ship name. The ship model is a Firespray-31.

Both! The ship is a Firespray-class attack shuttle, and that specific one is the Slave I

At West End Games Roleplaying Games, we created the Firespray-31-Class Patrol and Attack Craft as the ship type that Slave I (though heavily modified to Boba Fett’s specifications) belonged too, way back in 1989. There is no woke shenanigans going on here. Both forms of address are correct.

Kenner called it Slave One in 1980 so Lucas liked it and kept it. So it's always been Slave One. It was given a type later and Disney uses it to avoid controversy.

Edit: Disney had no problem selling it for 10 years as the Slave One.
