A sneak preview of AC analysis: We break a sinusoidal input voltage into two complex exponentials. Using superposition, we recover the complex output signals and reassemble them into a real sinusoidal output voltage.

6:50 you need paranthesis in the argument of e else if that j does not distribute over phi then you will have a constant as a result of phi because it will be e^phi= constant but there is one already there the K, so if the transient is not necessary then j must be distributed as such e ^ j(wt+phi) will result in 2 complex numbers 1 that is a function of time and rotates and another one which is a constant the phi one or phase angle aka starting point of the wave
