Johann Sebastian Bach (31 March [O.S. 21 March] 1685 – 28 July 1750) was a German composer and musician of the Baroque period. Bach enriched established German styles through his mastery of counterpoint, harmonic and motivic organisation, and his adaptation of rhythms, forms, and textures from abroad, particularly from Italy and France. Bach's compositions include hundreds of cantatas, both sacred and secular. He composed Latin church music, Passions, oratorios and motets. He often adopted Lutheran hymns, not only in his larger vocal works, but for instance also in his four-part chorales and his sacred songs. He wrote extensively for organ and for other keyboard instruments. He composed concertos, for instance for violin and for harpsichord, and suites, as chamber music as well as for orchestra. Many of his works employ the genres of canon and fugue.

At the age of 7 I was in a horrible traffic accident that gave me frontal lobe injury. Being in a body cast for months afterwards .... my only request whenever my mother went to the local library was for more Bach and Beethoven records! I especially loved Bach harpsichord.. .

I write this in the Corona Virus month of May 2020. The flute actually 'soothes' my mind. When it gets too stressful worrying about how to stay on top of ths virus, the business, the clients, my fitness etc I play my newfound Bach.. and do you know, the sound 'creates' a feeling of the 'muddy' thinking physicaly peeling away . THAT is how it feels when you close your eys and listen to every phrase, every note ... Superb!


So now I listen reclined on top of my bed - and it is simply amazing - I wake ''renewed' - and ready to get on with the next challenge to prepare for when corona lockdown is lifted...

Una Historia...! Hace casi 50 anos, un companero y buen amigo de la Universidad me comunico la gran novedad para mi, de escuchar la musica de los clasicos, mientras dibujabamos nuestros proyectos escolares. La influencia fue de descubrir porque los grandes maestros, en este caso en la musica culta no moriran jamas. Nuestra amistad duro muchos anos mas, yo emigre a Canada y el se fue con Dios. Resulta increible, que despues de tantos anos y tantas experiencias, tantos viajes, el matrimonio y los ninos que crecieron y tantas formas de ver la vida, se concentren en el placer de escuchar la riqueza del Maestro Bach, y sus brillantes colegas a traves de los siglos, me traigan la frescura de las epocas con mi gran amigo. Asi las risas, los viajes, las novias o los ninos, los proyectos ya profesionales revivan simplemente al escuchar los acordes que unieron nuestro gusto por la profesion de arquitectos y mas que nada, por la educacion de la sensibilidad al escuchar a traves de tantos anos, no las notas, sino los maravillosos recuerdos. Gracias a mi amigo Antonio Biosca, que me inspirara siempre. Me honra compartirlo con ustedes.
