Wonderful story. Miss Alma had become impatient with her lot in life (bad hip, no husband, no children, etc.). She had started walking to visit and talk to the preacher. When she fell and was helped back up on to her feet by an unlikely looking young man whose name was Albert (who needed help with many things). In her efforts to teach and guide Albert she learned how to be patient with him and herself. A long time ago, a teacher that I was working with (while trying to teach Down's syndromes children) knew that I was about to give up and quit. She told me, "These children are Angels sent to earth to teach us how to be patient". I did not quit. Most of those children don't get to live long lives; but, I have been very lucky to get to work with and know some of them.

I miss Mrs Minnie, Benoit Mississippi. She lived 4 houses from ours and she was a grandma to 2 little ones. On a hot delta day my sister was backing out our driveway and noticed Mrs Minnie and her grandkids walking up the gravel road, grandkids were barefoot. My sister asked if they wanted a ride, they were walking 2 miles to the only store there. From then on anytime Minnie wanted to go to the store she’d walk to our house and ask “ y’all goin to Bee-noit “? lol one of us would always answer yes ma’am and give her a lift to and from. She felt like a grandma to us too
