I love it! I was a climber for an arborist and never thought that what I did every day with a chainsaw in tall trees was a SF tactic.

Awesome! I use this J-hook technique to get me through Air Assault school! 😃👍🏾

The J-Hook is also easier to teach to Privates because it's just doing the Criss Cross while hanging from a rope.

I really thought I knew how to climb a rope before I watched this but now I feel like a dumb ass lol

SFAS in April 1989, they send us on the obstacle course. The only cadre out were by the rope climbs so sort of apparent what they were looking for. Since my high school had ropes in our school gym, the feet thing was the way to go as weak upper body types are up the rope slapping the top. Some dude still on the ground hopping up and down in futility not going anywhere and cadre tells him to get out of here and he was gone at gate 1. It had been 15 years since high school and had not seen a rope since then. Selected and a very successful 1990s decade 18E.

only usefull if theres one person on a rope with this method. clinch between knee calf and ankle and you can all do a fast descent or ascent.
