"Why was my leave request denied?"

Got up and walked out.

I happened to be the supply guy, so I went right back to my computer and canceled every requisition for supplies they needed.

I taught a class on racism at the U of Washington for 22 years. It even became a class of two that could meet graduation requirements. I became I’ll and was gone for a few years. When I returned I was told Diversity classes were not funded. Tech and business departments were thriving.

Martin Luther King Jr. marched, spoke, and sacrificed. Malcolm X fought with passion, intelligence, and strength—all so Black people could rise, so you could have the opportunity for free education and a better life. Yet here you are, turning away from those sacrifices, dropping out of school, and letting wack hip-hop filled with criminal glorification lead you astray. You don’t finish school, but when migrants come here, working hard to make an honest living, you have the nerve to be angry? Fire burn that mentality, Rasta.

Look at history—these lands weren’t built by the people who now claim them. America was never theirs to begin with. Where is your power, Black man? You should be standing tall, but instead, you’ve allowed yourself to be complicit in the system that pushed the true owners of this land, the Natives, out of their homes.

You laugh, you giggle, and you follow laws that were never made with you in mind, forgetting that God’s law is above all. It’s time to wake up, Black man. Remember who you are and where you come from. Stand for something real.
