Google : Let's kill Windows Phone by not putting Google's apps on MS store.
Microsoft : This is personal.

I tried this on Windows 11 build 22000.527 which is officially released with android app support and i can confirm this method works 100%.

For those who have github account suspended when forking/run workflow, this happens because your are using newly created github account, so if you just make your new github account, you should wait at least 24 hours so your github account will be safe. Also if you have error when running Install.ps1, you need to uninstall previous WSA which is downloaded from Microsoft Store.

Have fun running android apps/games on your PC without emulator :)

The best part is that since the project is open source, I'm not afraid of any backdoors.

It works perfectly! Thanks you so much.

PD: If Play Store say "can't connect" or something like this, just stop Windows subsystem Android and open the play store. When play store opened the Windows subsystem Android android run normally and the play store too <3

After I click Fork, then Actions, there is nothing present saying Magisk, instead it says "Build WSA". Is this a new name for Magisk? @Tech Based

When I execute "Run with powershell",
the window opens and shows a dialog "Do you want to allow ...",
I give it "yes",
it passes a second and then the command line closes (PS)

Doesn't show any error message

:(

It did work for me! Thank you @Tech Based. Thank you. After allowing 'virtualisation', I tried a few approaches earlier from different Youtube sources unsuccessfully. So I took the advise to uninstall earlier subsystem installations (this didn't do any harm to windows). The process is of 2 parts. 1st Part - Github Part (I followed it to the dot). 2nd Part - Windows installation part. My lessons learnt: Part 1. select the 'pico' variant in github was indeed good enough. Don't leave it as 'none' :-) Part 2. After extraction, I didnt actually see the 'Install' file but 'Install.ps1' text - right click and use 'Open with' - select Windows Powershell. It will self install. Soon you will find the Google Play icon, its account verification direction needing your android phone and installation. You will know what to do next. All of these took about <10mins. Good luck!

Great video! Do you have to be on an insider build? Or can you do it on official build as well?

thanks for the video but my powershell keeps closing when checking install does not come up like yours

So yeah this is a simpler way. However, the end result was a non-working copy of WSA. The setting page comes up and when I click the Files button at the top, it does open a new windows with "Starting Windows Subsystem for Android..." but then after a minute or two the window disappears and nothing else happens. Pressing refresh on the IP address displays no IP address and when I click Files again, it starts the process over again. So it did install... but it does not fuilly open and connect. But thanks for the video... I wish it did work! This process is so much easier!

Fantastic video, thanks! This is already rooted, how can I remove root? Under Run workflow and after choosing Pico as variant, I see another option, 'Root soluction. Should be: [magisk, none]', if I go with none option will it remove root?

What are "variants"? Do you have to run each of the choices?
