Pattern recognition isn’t racist or problematic.

So this is why we can’t even agree that men and women are different.

He has successfully abstracted something I've been trying to abstract for years. A transcendent purpose. And also his point that a nihilist is angry at the universe is true.

The reason I believe what Dr Peterson says is because he speaks the truth.

Let's just be honest and call Postmodernism for what it really is: Solipsism turned into an ideology.

JP is a great man. You can tell how great one is by the number of people that hate them.

Jordan is right: you cannot remove metanarratives completely because narratives is how our brains think.

Such an important series of points for free societies to seriously discuss and decide upon if they wish to remain free.
Thank you for sharing.

I’d like JP to talk about the work of social scientist and post Frankfurt School thinker Jurgen Habermas. Why? Because I’d be particularly interested in how Jordan’s ideas match up with those of JH when it comes to subjects like Communicative rationality, Universal pragmatics and so on - they both talk about the same things really but under different headings and in different ways (predictably - we all do!) But JP has more experience with for example mental health which could be useful re JH’s theories ie to modify/develop

The differences between the views on abortion and homosexuality is the key divide in Western societies. This is a spiritual issue between those who have faith and those with none.

Jordan Peterson: the last person one should ever ask to define postmodernism.

in the old country, "
narratives look the same., there is no contrast when viewing history considering who we are. then and NOW.
historical events are sequestered for a time and place marked by its needs and respect for them, needs.
good things take work/time
GREAT things come from the meaning of need.
and fast as a weld bead and all at once we tack CHANGE.
America's ONLY Narrative.

A circle is not round. I took a class on postmodernism and it was infuriating, but I think that was the point.

Someone paying $120, 000 for a banana duct-taped to a wall at Art Basel is the perfect picture of wealth inequality. The Great Postmodernism Swindle.

Postmodernism is taught to each new therapist in California. IDK about the rest of the US. It's hard to help people when you can't agree on an objective reality. Why even bother giving therapy?

we also need a parallel positive definition to consumerism.. we are dependend to the simulation and consuming is inevitable.. and in this system we are consuming lifes..

So then that brings me to generational theory. I have read Strauss and Howe. I think, Gen X, which are more creative and the types of people running the creative endeavors of DreamWorks and gaming industries, I think they are creating this new replacement mythology and religion to help people cope with the lack of religion in the post modern era.

I'd love to hear Dr. Peterson's take on this, if someone would be so kind as to direct me to a post or podcast...thank you.
