My name is Lucy, I'm a 25-year-old girl from the Netherlands, and I'm here to offer an alternative approach to beauty.

On this channel I do mostly hair tutorials where I show you how to braid, pin and style your own hair. I recreate hairstyles from movies & tv shows and I regularly come up with my own, which I love to share with you!

I do lifestyle and beauty videos as well, ranging from wearable everyday looks, makeup tips and DIY natural beauty treatments, to fashion lookbooks, vegetarian recipes and more extreme Halloween tutorials.

If you enjoy history, you've come to the right place as well. I have a few series based on historical makeup and hairstyling that are my little passion projects.

Enjoy browsing!

Love,
Lucy

In case you're wondering why my hair looks so much fuller in the old footage: I went through a massive bout of hairloss in 2011 and it grew back a lot, but never quite to the thickness I had before :(

You do NOT have pin straight hair! But if you keep treating it like that, that's what you'll get. I know from experience. I had big curls as a child, but the minute I stopped using baby shampoo, which has less harmful ingredients, and my mom started making me brush my hair all the time (she has straight hair and didn't know what to do with my hair), it went straight and frizzy. I transitioned only a year and a half ago, and believe me, it takes a LONG time for hair to go back. You have to use this method every day for months to see real results. Keep at it, and I think you'll surprise yourself!

I have straight hair and I assure you that your hair is not straight, no matter what other commenters say. The texture and appearance of your hair are completely different than mine. Also, when I scrunch my wet hair, it is still straight mo matter what products I use, while yours holds some curl. Your hair is very similar to my 2 sisters (I have many female relatives with varying amounts of curl to draw examples from ). Both the texture and the amount of curl you get in long hair is very similar to theirs. They are in the 2B - C range, with maybe some 3A.

A lot of people are saying you have straight hair, I disagree and do think, especially from seeing older photos, that your hair is slightly wavy and could eventually get to 2a waves. Creams are very heavy on wavy hair! I have 2c/3a hair, and most creams loosen my curls quite a lot. Also the drying time you mention makes It sound like your hair is low porosity, which means you really don’t need much product. I would recommend products meant specifically for wavy hair (try devacurl wavemaker! Or the herbal essence totally twisted mousse for a cheap option), or a very light, strong hold gel (like the LA sports extreme blue gel- sounds scary, but it’s great at preserving texture without weighing the hair down). Also, diffusing doesn’t work for everyone. For me, it makes my pretty darn wavy/curly hair practically straight! Just a few tips if you decide to try again.

I think if you had layers in your hair, the texture/waves would stay better. Since your hair is long, the weight of your hair probably pulls them right out. My hair is similar and when I have layers, it stays wavier.

You should do this for a longer time, it gets better with time.

Edit: in your old videos you definitely have texture so I think you should go to a virgin state of hair and then try the cgm.

I wonder how your hair would look if you would continue using the method. I was really interested in your results, because I've got naturally really straight hair myself and wondered how it would look like if I used the method.

You definently have some waves. Not crazy waves, but It's not pin straight either.

Hi Loepsie, I have curly hair - like tendrils / coils. But when my hair was not "virgin" hair, it would NEVER get any texture, no matter what. So I think the only way this method actually works, is on people with virgin hair. Once you grow out your whole head of hair then you could do some occasional heat (with protectant) but no chemicals, and still get texture.

Also Jamaican black castor oil massaged into the scalp, will help regrow thickness. It takes about a year of regular massaging and low manipulation styles. Good luck!

In my experience I have found that the CG method works better once you’ve committed to transitioning into it for at least 3-5 months. That means all the products CG approved, using styling products like gels, no heat... but also: getting a new cut! The cut does change A LOT when you’re doing the CG method. I think you should definitely give it a thorough try. My hair looked similar to yours before I began, and now I’m a 2b/2c/3a!

As someone with thick, straight hair, I can confirm you have some curl/wave to your hair. You're definitely not 1b...lol

If you don't have pin-straight hair, but a slight wave, the LOC/LCO method for styling, from the CG method is the best way to go. It is about layering your styling products. To give you an idea. I have fingertip length hair and use about a coin size of each layer of product, so that goes to show how *little* you need! I usually use a curl cream, a gel, and a serum. All a coin size, that's it. Shorter hair, use a pea size amount. No joke! Also, the straighter your hair, the less product you need. Do mix your cream with the gel up front in the palm of your hand; if it curdles, it's going to flake in your hair. Some creams don't go well with gel. Just FYI!

The CG method isn't a 1 time fix, it's a way of treating your hair and the longer you follow the method the better your hair becomes and your curls or waves will look... OVER TIME. And if you were to start the method with the intentions of truly seeing your waves potential you would need to actually do it correctly because your still not doing it right. Your hair isn't straight but it takes time to fix your texture when you have treated it like straight hair for so long. The reason it looks more wavy when wet is because it is moisturized.

You have to use the CG method every day for weeks/months. It doesn’t occur after just a couple of half-hearted tries. The cut also matters.

Doesn't help if you use this just randomly on some days! You should try like 2 weeks and make a video!!

I have naturally curly hair and switched to CGM a few months ago, and I have honestly been so tempted to give up many times. I only stuck with it because my curls definitely do look better and healthier, but... I have no idea why you would even bother with this when you have SO little texture. Like, if I could not do this and my hair would still look good, I would opt right out.

Your hair doesn't look greasy, it looks shiny & healthy.

Funny thing I have virgin hair and I use heat on my hair about once every two months if at all. After you did your first video I was curious and started to research the method and tried it(air drying) and now I am getting actual spirals in the back of my head. I have alays known I have had a little wave to my hair, but was not expecting to get spirals! I also added an oil routine the night before my wash and the has help tge overall health of my hair and scalp. So keep having fun cuz it opened my eyes to a new world. Love your content its always fun! 💞

From the old footage clips, I just realized I think I followed your bang cutting video from about 8 years ago. I cut my own bangs at 16 fairly successfully! Lol. Flashback to high school.
