Hello world welcome to car design at jmc car build. In this phev / solar hybrid car prototype build video, I have integrated the Kunray 5 kw bldc motor instead of the earlier 1.5 kw twin units to the Sunraygt Solar Powered car. This motor has been used extensively in high performance ebike application. I have also fitted the chain driven speed reducer with resized roller chains to the drive system and pulled off a test drive on the solar car.

With the driveline complete she can spin up to top speed and run in lead mode during hybrid operation.
The fardriver Controller has been brought to tune finally and it propels the motor like a song.

The chain driven speed reducer, reduces the motor speed from 5000 rpm to axle speed producing a torque multiplication of 9 X.

Moving fully electric both forward and reverse.

You can see the chain driven speed reducer in action as the vehicle moves.

The product design features a 150cc 10 kw rear engine with a parallel 5kW electric drive, 330W Solar panels, a rack and pinion steering gear, All wheel disc brakes and double wishbone independent suspension all round in a fully fiberglass body on a steel tubular chassis.
