Akshat, your explanation of recession is incorrect. Technically negative GDP growth creates recession. Slowdown in growth is NOT recession. It has to be -ve. The GDP should contract for 2 consecutive quarters.

It is not just a mere increase of interest rate to 0.25 by Japan which resulted in the crash., major appreciation of yen to dollar from 165 to 145 yen to 1 dollar which resulted in the crash. Otherwise minor increase in interest rate would not have made any impact

Japan's 0.25% interest rate is not a big deal and it's not the reason for market the crash. Markets are already over valued. So earning disappointment of some company's coupled with disappointing employment report fearing recession and Middle East war situation have triggered the crash.
