First Weekend on MSC Magnifica - The first of MANY Sailings! MSC Magnifica Review

Taking a risk and changing home ships. Been a cruise ship nomad for a bit but decided I could no longer pass up the unbelievable prices on MSC and have booked several weekend cruises on MSC Magnifica in 2024.

Making a cruise ship your "home ship" is a commitment and I made this commitment without experiencing MSC Magnifica prior. A risky move and was anxious to see how my initial sailing would go but excited to share my initial review of MSC Magnifica. Well discuss the MSC Magnifica food, entertainment, and ship layout.

I had a really fun time on the Magnifica in January. The entertainment in the main theater was better than the one on a recent Celebrity cruise. The food was good, and only once we had a disappointing experience in the main dining room with the octopus salad (do not get that if you sail). No big deal. we just went to the buffet later in the evening. I loved Key West and Ocean Cay. We got rained out later in the day, but MSC put on another really great show in the main theater. Let's not forget, this cruise is a bargain. I find it funny that people complain about the food as if they paid for a 5-star restaurant or a luxury cruise. We were always able to find something to eat that we liked, and the staff was so friendly and nice. The drinks package is also so much more reasonably priced than on other cruise lines. I was a little worried that this would make it more of a party ship or trashy. This was not the case (at least not for our cruise). I would go on the Magnifica weekend cruise again in a heartbeat.

I was just on the Magnifica (Jan 19 -22nd). I love the ship's design. The food was adequate in the buffett and the MDR food was pretty good especially the carne asada. The entertainment was top notch. I had a great time!

I loved the main dining room on this cruise… it has been my first cruise as an adult…. It was FUN. The shows were good. Snapper in main dining room was amazing. And the night club was amazingggg

I love your channel and you've carved out a very nice niche, socializing the benefits of value sailing on MSC, and counteracting some of the negative perceptions cruisers have of MSC. If I sailed out of NY or Miami, I would jump at the chance to try MSC. You do a great job.

Great to meet you on the Magnifica in a gale! We had a wonderful weekend (March 22-25). Agreed that the deck lounges stink and the muster system needs updating. We found the food fantastic, the entertainment top notch, the crew efficient if not somewhat in absence, and the casino quite rewarding! Love the ship and will return. Hope to see you again! Thank you for this! I'm booked on the Magnifica for a solo weekend cruise in mid-March. I've done other MSC cruises, but this will be the first time on one of their small ships. Your video was very helpful!

Thanks for the initial review. Looking forward to seeing more. MSC may very well be as a Solo, a good one for me until I find a GF or travel partner. And probably if you plan a group cruise down here, that would probably be a yes since the solo is so affordable. Still don't know how you do it most weekends. The Novelty would wear off for me. See Ya Later. Oh, I was happy on Saturday to be taking some customers from South Beach to MIA just as the Icon was pulling out on it's Maiden Voyage with the fireworks going off and whatnot.

I just sailed Superbowl weekend.
They cleaned a lot.
I enjoyed the MDR. I would not go hungry on this ship. My sister loved the sweet potato soup. The steak was edible.
The staff was Awesome and nice.
I missed the Circus show.
We formed a sailing group on FB and I met some good people.
The drink package is the BEST of all cruise lines.
For the price, I would like to sail this ship again.

I think it’s because it’s a European line. They don’t over salt their foods or do a lot of processed foods.

Enjoyed the review of MSC Magnifica. I don't think I could sail on the same ship that many times! Lol! My record is 3 which was on Carnival Sensation. I can say when I disembarked Carnival Sensation the 3rd time, I was thinking that was plenty! I will sail the same ship twice if I'm only doing short sailings or it was a fantastic experience.

I was really nervous trying MSC again since I absolutely hated the Davina. I’m pleased to say that I really enjoyed Magnifica. The three stage shows were all wonderful. The pizza is delicious.

I have a sense that MSC is upping its game in North America. In Europe, like Costa cruises, they largely cater for Italians and the other Mediterranean countries with very little English spoken on board. Great for them but not amazing for English speakers and atmosphere. Also means the entertainment tends to be dance etc as other forms require language. There are exceptions like UK starting more local cruises but these are not the norm. It tends to be for families not couples or solos - the pools, flumes and family activities in the European MSC ships are the opposite of what you described on the magnifica.

Omg im sailing on this ship Feb 26th and they upgraded me to deluxe balcony as always! My third Msc cruise and my third time being upgraded to a deluxe balcony when paying for a guaranteed interior! I love msc and i love their prices! Im so so excited!!! Can’t wait to watch your reviews.

How do you get the on board credit??? That’s one i haven’t figured out yet!!! But the deals are so amazing! Can’t wait for my cruise! 🚢 and i LOVED the buffet on the Divina so I can’t wait to try it on the Magnifica!

I had a different experience on my previous 2 cruises though i was assigned a table with other solos so good to know you got sat alone - I’ll go ask and make sure on the first night i don’t want to sit alone i love sitting at a table full of other solos!!!!
