When the entire lake has 1ft of ice on it (including the boat launch), yet you just have a yearning to take your boat out and drive in 50ft wide circles. This is how not to put a boat into the water from the ice sheet (there really is no way to do it, just don't).

Honestly, I wouldn't consider this a fail. It may be stupid but not a epic fail the trucks still dry and the boats in the water mission accomplished.

To all the commenters wondering how he'll get it back on the trailer, it's not that big a deal. We dry launch right onto the ice and pull the trailer out from under the boat. Coming in, we drive the boat onto the ice, then winch it onto an unhooked trailer (a tilt trailer would make it even easier), then pull it off the ice with the tow strap.

That's pretty clever. Use your work truck in case it falls into the lake then call the company and tell them you slid off the road.

My aluminum boat I would push off the trailer onto the ice. Then slide the boat over the ice and in. That way you don't get to the edge of the ice with weight on your trailer.
