As of now, there is a minimum $200 difference in price between the 7h and 8h, reaching about $500 difference in the 75” class.
Not to mention availability issues with the 8h.
That’s not an insignificant difference in cost, and considering there are many, many far worse options out there, it hits pretty high compared to more mainstream brands’ offerings.
Not everyone needs the top of the line model at these prices.

Interestingly the U7H has become a solid competitor in the 75 inch category due to the price difference to the U8H at that size (under $1000 vs $1500).

Its closest competitors in this price range are the previous TCL 6-series models but even those are a couple of hundred dollars more expensive currently.

Yes, PLEASE do a comparison between the U7H and the old flagship U8G. I am considering that exact choice in my TV purchase decision, and would so appreciate your opinion on which to go for.

U8H is back to $999 for 65” and sold out everywhere! U7H is $799 and available. TCL 6 series goes for $999 as well! On Dec 5, 2022.

I wish there was a 50$ difference even on black Friday deals here in the USA best I can find is U7H at 498$ and the U8H at 699$

It's a $300 difference in Canada between the U7H and the U8H

Love the video and if I were in the States the 50 dollar difference would be a no brainer. But in Canada the 55 inch U7H (55U78H) goes for 900 and the 55 inch U8H (55U88H) is 1200 CAD, before taxes, a far cry from the US pricing. And seeing how much prices have gone up... in 2018 got a Roku TCL 49 inch 4K under 500 CAD tax included, which met an early demise, hence the need for a new TV. Was not expecting to pay double or triple for 6 inch more real estate

The U8H is sold out everywhere so I got the U7H FOR $500

In Australia going from the 75” u7h to u8h is an extra $500 which I couldn’t justify.

Everywhere is out of the u8h and I really want a good gaming tv in the next week or two so I'm really torn between the u7h and the tcl r646. Do you have any other recommendations for that $500-$700 price range?

Thanks for a very honest review 👍 i think hisense made this tv specific to gamers maybe a comparison in 75in for u7h vs tcl 655 and please include gaming and sports. Neither of these tvs would be a top choice for 65in or less but at 75in these are top 2 for 1k-1200 range.

I agree with u on the terms and conditions issue but I wouldn’t expect anything else from a google product

In canada the U7H is $1k and the U8H is $1.5k, to me, that difference is way more than enough to take the U7H

I want the u8h but it doesn't come in 85 inches only the u7h does. I was going to get the tcl 85r655 but after watching your review I'm torn between the two. The tcl is only 300 more. Which should I get

So what would be a good 65inch TV for under $1000? Trying to find a TV has been a nightmare. Its like they are all expensive and no idea what you're getting. Thanks!

Wow, I didn't realize we could get the U8H for just a little bit more and have it be so much better. Thanks for mentioning that, because I was almost ready to buy the U7H. No way I'm going to go with the U7H when I can get the U8H for a little more and have it be so much better.

In the UK a 65 inch u7hq is £850. A 55inch u8hq is £1199.

Glad there's not much difference. I purchased the 75" u7g and the 65" u8g for my bedroom a few months ago and I'm loving the both of them with that 3d effect.

I appreciate your candor. I've found this model for $480 as a "Black Friday" deal at Costco. Seems like a better 55" option at this price point?
