Barotrauma: Soundproof Walls vs Vanilla – Official Comparison

Soundproof Walls is a sound overhaul mod for Barotrauma that revamps the vanilla audio system and adds all-new sound-based mechanics to make audio more interesting and immersive. Soundproof Walls' hallmark features are its suffocating muffle effects, new eavesdropping and hydrophone mechanics, and immersive proximity chat, all of which combine to change how the game plays and feels.

Wow… a hydrophone, finally. Out of all the things that could be in a submarine, a hydrophone isn’t? To which is basically passive sonar. I honestly think it’s a great feature. Imagine being the captain in the abyss and you’re listening through the hydrophone and you hear this deep, echoing guttural grown emitting from the bow of your submarine. Extra horror right there.
