I'm with you. I went to an auction and bought 3 chairs and a life sized robot. They fit with room to spare. When I camp, I sleep in the back. I just pull into the camping site, take out the grill and chair, and I'm done. Rain? No problem. The view while driving is amazing. If you need a car to define your image, I'm sorry for you. I do miss the fun of driving a sportscar, but all things considered, it's minivan for me!

My advice to every 1st time car buyer, BUY A VAN! If u ever get in trouble with a "roommate " or fall on hard times, you've got somewhere to sleep and keep your stuff safe, dry. Screw pickups/cars. Find a good used loaded model with video/leather, you'll love it. Btw, cops don't look at minivans. ;)

Why do people need a car to make them "cool". It just a vehicle that helps me go to places and carry people. I almost bought an SUV but decided to buy a minivan even though my kids are all grown up. It's super convenient and practical.

In 25 years, I have bought 10 minivans. First I take out the rear seats, put in my tools and go to work. I travel distances and a minivan, with CD and cruise and better AC, more cargo room and smoother ride is great. Never regretted it. Would not have any other vehicle. Had to sleep in my van couple nites. Comfortable. Minivans are BOSS.

In my 20s and 30s I owned all those cool cars like corvette, 300zx, 3000GT, miata. Bought mini van at age 43 and never look back. Main reason is SPACE.

Honestly, How many trucks in your neighbourhood are pulling trailers, hauling tool chests, and loads of lumbar? Are the neighbors kayaking and mountain biking the backcountry every weekend with their suv? How often are you drag racing and drifting in turns with your sporty car...

IMO buy what you can afford - for what you need- consider reliability, safety, practicality, and comfort.
