This is awesome! Great tips, I especially love the aspect of sharing that story behind the song. Being able to write something people can connect with on a deeper level, not just through the music itself, but also that message of encouragement and hope is what got me creating. Marketing has always been the toughest part for me, especially when it comes to the repetition aspect, lol It's inspiring to hear that posting 34, 35 times can really make all the difference! It can be scary putting your music out there, especially for the first time and when you're not quite sure where your audience might be found, but persevering and never giving up is the most important thing!

What would be a good threshold for beginning to put money towards ads on Instagram? I have 500 followers and most of my videos get about 300 views. Sitting around 900 monthly listeners on Spotify. Would it be if a video gets around 600 views? I hear people saying when the post does well organically then put ad money towards it. I’m really stuck on this point. Thank you for all of your content you’ve been a real help to my confidence over the years.

Chris how do We balance content for Rappers vs content for Producers? I was planning to post 10 songs over and over. First vid was a 30 second talk and 30 second play of each beat, I was planning to post them over and over in different ways until they get views. I'm only talking about YouTube views only.

I know what it takes to make it in the music business. Write an album like Chappell Roan did with The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess or like the first Van Halen album. Every song is amazing on both albums. If someone doesn't have a song that will go viral with over 30 million streams in 3 months, it's because they don't know how to write a song like that. Think of all the bands from The Beatles to Nirvana to Lady Gaga who had amazing first albums. Of all the artists I mentioned, only Chappell was able to use social media to promote her album, and she doesn't use it very often. Olivia Rodrigo doesn't use social media very often. Paramore and My Chemical Romance use social media even less. Write at least two songs on your album that will go viral, and you won't have to worry about tips and tricks to get noticed in the music business.
