How to fix Java Virtual Machine Error

When the new launcher came out it was made simple to add ram but now its harder...or is it.... How many likes can we get?

Welcome to a Minecraft tutorial, todays tutorial I will show you how you can add more RAM into Mine Craft and fix the Java Virtual Machine Error.
A heads up, this method only works for 64 bit users, 32 bit users I am sorry this video isn't for you.
When the new launcher came out it was super easy to change your RAM but it has changed again but it's not as hard as you may think, you don't need to update your java or download the newest version, it's simple as 1 2 3.
UPDATE/PLEASE READ!
All I know for now is that this works with the default Minecraft Launcher, I've gotten many questions on other Launchers. I am not sure if it will work for any other launcher besides default one.

--Reminder--
Be sure to remember how much RAM you have.
The default Minecraft Java directory is Program Files(x86) which is for 32 bit users, and if you have a 64 bit it can cause the Java Virtual Machine Error.

so I figured out my problem with the help of this video
1.make sure you update your java
2.if your computer runs 32 bit then your out of luck you cant add more ram to minecraft
3.if you have 64 bit then make sure you delete the (86x) from the ext
4. if you have16g 12gs then add 6g you should be fine now if you have 8g add 4gs and so on
ex. -Xmx 6G -Xms 6G just raplace the 6g with 4g or 2g
5. then start it then it should work

FINALLY! I've installed, uninstalled and reinstalled so many different versions of java according to roughly 10 different pages, all advising insane register tweaks and all sort of crap, and nothing worked, until this finally did! Even after 7 years this is the only real solution lol, thanks man! <3

I done this hoping it would work for crazy craft on the void launcher but to no avail still error and yes I am 64 bit and 11 g ram I allocated 5g of rom to it but still no sucess

For linux users, tick the two boxes and just type this command in the JVM arguments: -Xmx1G (cause I've got 4GB Ram ) and don't add the Xms command. It works for me on Linux mint so it works on ubuntu too.



Pour les Linuxiens, cochez les deux cases et tapez uniquement cette commande dans JVM arguments: -Xmx1G (Parce que j'ai que 4GB de Ram) et n'ajoutez pas de commande Xms. Ca a marché pour moi sous Linux Mint donc ça marchera aussi sous Ubuntu.
