Right Bumper FIX* Xbox Elite Controller (Series 2)

This is just a temporary fix. I would highly recommend not getting one of these but if you do and run into this issue, this is how I fixed it.

It’s garbage that the build quality was supposed to be better and I’ve had the same issue with series 1 and 2. I’m so tempted to try a scuff but the ease of using the elite and button mapping is unmatched

I fixed my bumper by smashing it with my hand and it works now the only problem is the left joystick .This is no joke

I was having the exact same problem. I fixed it by taking all trigger stoppers off, then pushing down the trigger all the way on the same side as my broken bumper, then blowing very hard for like 20 seconds into the little crack between the bumper and trigger. Works fine now.

Another tip take the plastic thing out and get something to push the entire button down towards the centre of the controller depending on which bumper

My right bumper works, but every time I click it, it almost always acts as a double click. So on menu's, itll bounce two tabs over. If I ping on apex, it'll double ping and say enemy. Will this solution fix that double click, or is this only for bumpers that aren't working at all?

I’ve gotten this controller and the right bumper not registering is such a big problem, I’ve gotten 2 more controllers with warranty for 50 bucks. The controller I’m using now doesn’t register at times and I’m scared to do this but I’m gonna try it.

i got this problem after a few months of having it and it was a big problem because i play competitively on rainbow six siege i saw that you jammed something in there so i took a SMALL alcohol pad and jammed it in there a took a prying tool and kinda moved sum shit around and my bumper don't click when i press it it's VERY stiff but when i barely tap it it works 100% of time

Glad I found this. Have had my elite 2 controller for 7 months and my right bumper is going.. only problem I have with it but seems like this is a common issue.. come on microsoft.. 180 bucks for it to break that easily!?

Having the same issue. I’m about to try your method. My warranty expired which is BS because they know the elite controllers don’t last. I’m on my second seres 2 and had like 3 series 1 that I kept returning to Microsoft stores. Too bad they closed all them

Does this also work if the bumper is double clicking? Because I was told to take that little paper completely out of the controller to fix my problem, but it didn’t fix it.

I had the same problem. I had a warranty but I didn't want to wait 2 weeks with no controller so I bought a new one. My new one has already broken within less than 3 WEEKS. These controllers are absolute garbage and I would never recommend them to anyone.

The rb on my elite doesn't click like my lb and after a long gaming session it gets sticky like its sticking down what's wrong with it?

Yo dude this actually worked for me. Bought my elite2 a year ago, had this issue right out of the box. Recently started using it again and still had the this issue. But surprisingly the tin foil actually works.. I’ll come back in a few days to inform if it holds up or not

Guys just buy the iFixit kit it's 20$ and it's plastic so no issues damaging the controller

I had bought series one and two that did not last me. The first one got drift because of the case that was pushing the controller which broke it. And now this problem that leads my series 2 controller in the garbage. The build quality is really bad over time and does not last. But it is very hard to find a replacement controller. Most of the features from the series 2 aren't seen on any other controllers so it's going to be hard to switch but I don't even know what controller to buy.

I tried removing it, didnt work. I tried swapping the pieces with the one from the other side. Didnt work. I tried folding in one side and not the other. Worked for about 2 hours then failed to work consistently again. Tried folding both sides in like this video. Made the bumper far too sensitive, just tapping it would trigger it, and it also wasn’t consistently responding either. I need a permanent solution that doesn’t require folding a piece of plastic. This is my 5th controller now. Yes ive gone through the return process that many times. unfortunately I no longer have warranty so im on my own now
