How to see AWS Cost and Usage report from Command Line

In this video, I will show you how to see the AWS cost and usage report from the command line.

Before we begin, make sure you hit subscribe and tap the bell icon to get daily tech videos.

If you want to see the cost breakdown of the AWS services that you are using right in the command line then you can do that. There is a CLI tool called AWS Cost CLI which can do this and I will show you here how to use it. If you have an official AWS CLI installed then it is very easy to use this tool.

After the installation, you just enter this aws cost command and hit enter. It will now show you all the cost breakdown. Here it is showing zero cost as I am on the free tier and not using a lot of resources. But if you are using other services then for you it will show all of them.

This tool can also show you just a summary of the cost. For that, just append summary as a command line argument and hit enter.

It will now show you the AWS cost summary without the cost breakdown.
You can keep using this tool in this way.
