Sampras had more of a lag serve. It was Federer not Sampras who had both arms go up at the same time- with a slight delay with swinging arm.

I'm thinking the racket is thrown off mostly back foot drive with platform stance. Then landing on front foot hop

In terms of starting with the eyes up, Sofia Kenin's serve technique is completely opposite of that. She keeps her head and eyes level, tosses the ball, THEN looks up. She's the only one that does this. Very strange.

I want to copy his lag of the hitting arm. At the instant he releases the ball, the hitting arm is pointed down. Even when tossing arm is pointed straight up, the hitting arm is *still* pointed down. Wow. I'd be happy with half the lag he has.
But my instinct is to raise the hitting arm as tossing arm goes up.
Any drills to keep the hitting arm quiet while tossing arm goes up? 🤔

1:32 I'm a little confused with the "Thomas Berdych days" mention... Didn't Berdych bring both arms up almost at the same time? And re: Sampras, if you look at the moment the ball is released from the tossing hand, Fritz has his racquet down about as low as Sampras did; Taylor just then brings it up faster because he has a lower ball toss and a quicker rhythm than Pete. Unless I misunderstood your meaning?
