Day 4 time-lapse shows progress in the refloating of the Costa Concordia. For the operation, which began Monday, technicians are slowly filling 30 steel sponsons with air, providing the floatation for the shipwreck.

The Costa Concordia will need to reach a draft of 18.5 meters before it can be safely towed to the port of Genoa for scrapping. The tow is expected to commence Monday or possibly Tuesday.
