The Amazing Love Of God 5-15-19

Born in the dark I cannot see.
Where is a light that will lead me?
So lost and all alone,
Wandering without a home.

Mistakes I've made full of judgment claims,
Weighing me down with guilt and shame.
Hopeless to bear the punishment on my own,
As I see hands griping the death stones.

The judge and jury cast the verdict in,
After evidence was made of my sin.
In a prison cell all wrapped in chains,
My heart full of the void that remained.

They point and they laugh at my demise.
Sure wish they'd pick on someone their own size.
Drowning in the tears I cry,
I nearly gave up, but heard a whisper, "it's a lie"!

On my knees I dropped to pray.
I don't know how to get out Lord but show me the way.
In fury the enemy made a final stance.
But victory won, I was given another chance.

The truth concealed now revealed.
My eyes wide open, they are peeled.
Now I know the veil was torn in two.
I'm not who I used to be, I'm brand new.

No longer am I on my own.
There's access to the Lord's throne.
Red stained brown to make me white,
Once in darkness, but now in the light.

My heart of stone transformed to beating flesh.
I gave God my death, He gave me His best.
The Living Water flows in my veins.
My clothes are white, there is no stains.

How can I keep this joy to myself?!
What good is salvation left on the shelf?
I need to shine the light, let others see.
God will do for you what He did for me.

Jesus broke my chains and set me free.
You're in the dark friend, but come with me.
Your debt was paid by the Blood of the Lamb.
The nails pierced his feet and his hands.

The amazing love of God turned a slave to a son.
He loves you like you were the only one.
No need to worry because He's on your side.
When He said, "It is finished", that turned the tide.

The King is now returning to reclaim His own!
Now that you're my brother, together we'll go home.
Watch and pray, be brave, be strong, shine your light with me.
One day every knee will bow, every tongue confess, every eye will see.
