I want to hear more about the modal collapse part. I assume you mean the argument against divine simplicity - is this an argument that is especially prevalent in Eastern Orthodox theology? And has calov written on this?

Interesting discussion on God's knowledge on future contingents! I would like to weigh in with an insight I get from Magnus Sørensens videos on the topic (The synod called COELC). He says thar Gerhard actually uses Molinas category of middle knowledge in his section on omniscience but he doesn't use it at all when he discuss providence and predestination.
FC XI says that sends specific crosses to individuals as part of their process to be conformed to the image of christ. This whole thought kind of presupposes the idea that God knew if he sent this or that cross, that would have this or that consequence - which is middle knowledge.
