I bought my first house 2 years ago. Just this last winter i was having issues with the garage door "bouncing" when closing, and also "stopping" halfway up like it got stuck on its way open.

I fix the bouncing by resetting the travel distance on my motor. It was going "too far" and triggering the safety sensor.

And then i fixed the stopping by hooking the springs on further holes to make them do more of the lifting.

Now im gonna go out and try to see if i should go further with those springs knowing my door should be pulled up by them.

too bad every time i mention this to who installed my door opener when he replaces the burned up board, he says its fine. it take all my uper strength to pick the damn door up. (good thing they have a lifetime warranty on it.)
