After giving a brief overview of the Mandukya Upanishad on Day 3, Sri M leads a Q&A session in which he responds to a range of queries, including: "How does one live in the material world after reaching samadhi?", "What is the difference between the Anandamaya Kosha and the ananda of Chidananda roopam?", "Why is the path to the Divine not simple?", and "How does one carry the bliss of meditation into daily life?" and so forth.
This session took place on Day 3 of the Mandukya Upanishad Talks which took place in Kolkata, in April 2024.

00:00 – Introduction and recap of the last 2 days of Mandukya
00:59 – Significance of the term – Mandukya and essence of Mandukya
06:14 – Theory of Turiya – briefly explained
07:42 – Ashtavakra Gita
09:24 – Purpose of sadhana
14:29 - Nirvikalpa Samadhi
16:58 – Can the ordinary man attain It?
19:41 – Q1 – When one reaches the samadhi state, then there is no 'I’. If I get into samadhi, and the 'I' disappears, then how do I come back to my family? How do I live in this world? How am I supposed to be?
23:36 – Q2 – You talk about emptying oneself. We are aware of what is going on in the conscious mind. But what about what is deep down in the sub-conscious and unconscious mind? How to empty it? And when it starts to get empty how do we face it?
27:00 – Q3 – If this body and mind have tremendous sexual desire and energy, is there any way for this body that can be used and be channelized towards realizing the Truth?
29:02 – Q4 - Is there any possibility that my wife and I can do certain sadhanas together, that will help us evolve together?
30:32 – Q5 – What connection do I have with Thakur Ramakrishna Paramahamsa, Vivekananda? Why do I see them? What are they trying to convey? I know you know. So please tell me.
31:49 – Q6 – It sometimes seems that I am on the edge about to jump into the ocean. Yet this consciousness is kept within the limitations of this body. I feel like just one little flick of your finger would be enough. I ask for your grace.
32:44 – Q7 – If anyone wants to start kriya yoga, how do we start, especially the initiation?
37:29 – Q8 – In the Nirvana Shataka, Adi Shankara says in one of the verses, “Na me pancha kosha” – I am not the koshas, including the last one – Anandamaya kosha. But he keeps emphasizing ‘Chidananda Roopah Shivoham shivoham’. What is the difference between ‘anandamaya kosha and chidananda roopam’?
41:22 – Q9 – I had a dream on 29th july 2023 in which you said to me, Get everything on SriVidya. I could not understand it then but recently I found out that this year is Samvat 2081. What should I do? Is it a random dream?
45:38 – Q10 – How relevant and important is external ‘soucha’ (cleanliness), in today’s time? I have seen it being practiced by my grandparents.
47:57 – Q11 – The journey to enlightenment is filled with challenges and tests. So it is not an easy thing to achieve. It was not easy for Thakur, it was not easy for you and it was not easy for an advanced soul like the Buddha. Many spiritual paths like meditation and devotion require dedication and perseverance. Yet Sri Krishna says in the Gita, that only a few can actually attain it. It’s natural to wonder why the path to union with the divine is not simpler. Does God even want people to attain moksha? Or does he wants us to be immersed in Maya?
54:09 – Q12 – What happens to our consciousness during deep sleep? When we wake up after sleep we regain the awareness. How does our awareness become dormant during sleep and active otherwise?
56:16 – Q13 – When I start worshipping God, I completely immerse in it. All consciousness turns away from work and towards devotion. How can I maintain both my work life and my devotion?
58:24 – Q14 - In meditation, I feel so ecstatic, so blissful. But when I am pulled back, I’m so emotionally sensitive and it is so painful. How to carry the bliss into every moment? How to be emotionally stable?
01:01:27 – Q15 – I have experienced a Guru giving me some instruction in my dream but I cannot recall the dream.
01:02:40 – Q16 – If someone reaches a point, where they realise they lack materialistic desires and are performing their social responsibilities, family duties and survival, how can they determine that what steps to take next step to fulfill the true purpose of this particular birth?
01:04:38 – Q17 – What is your perspective on the next 5 years, given the current extreme predictions of natural disasters and potential loss of life?
01:07:43 – Q18 – I am initiated by my Guru, but can I consider you as my Guru and spiritual master too?
01:09:57 – Q19 – How to attain Samadhi? How to get moksha?
01:10:58 – Q20 – Do Gurus like Paramahamsa Yogananda or you write your autobiographies in order to inspire belief and faith in the spiritual way of life?
01:12:56 – Q21 – Some Gurus even perform miracles. Do they serve the same purpose – inspire belief so that people take to the right path and do not become Bohemian.
