I got both the HE1000 Unveiled and Arya Unveiled. I use them on a Voyager with the Fusion Core and a Denafrips Venus 15th. I figured I'd figure out which one I like and sell the other. I can't sell either one because I like them both. The Arya Unveiled is wild performance for $1400

Yep, I prefer planar tweeters so I upgraded my loudspeaker from my already great GoldenEar BRX (AMT tweeters) to PS Audio FR5 (planar tweeters).

Great balanced review, thank you. I have the HEKSE which I really like because of the slight dip at 1-2kHz which perfectly counters a HRTF sensitivity I have at the same frequency and I see that dip has been smoothed over in the HEKU. I would also worry about the exposed driver and constantly dropping noisy aluminium plates. Now if the Sus OG starts to price drop significantly that could get interesting.😊

Do you use some kind of PEQ for the HeU? For most of my pop songs, I really need PEQ in the 7500-10000 zone (around -4dB). It is close to an AryaU I guess. Most of instrumental musics are ok without EQ but songs deserves some otherwise it is too bright and sibilant.

Is 1000 unveiled a good matching with Burson Voyager Deluxe with the V7 vivid amps? Or is there to much treble energy? Perhaps the V7 classics are then better. With HD800S i must go unbalanced out to make the sound a bit less agressiv. But HD800S is not 1000 unveiled. Can you test also the Amp matching with the 1000 unveiled?

Im looking for some cans that has top of the line instrument separation, timbre, very tight and very impactful bass (kick drum), with the ability to get boomy without any mud. Im basically looking for headphones that I could use for metal, deathcore, thrash, djent, downtuned, 7 to 9 string guitar, heavy stuff. I feel like I have a perfect set for every other genre now, but there is always something a little off when I switch to metal. I already have a decent collection, with some flagships and TOTL's. Would the HE1KU's bass be enough? I really want that full body thickness & elite instrument separation (dont care about soundstage) without any mud hats able to be maintained during intense and complex music
