Salem, Massachusetts, is a remarkable historic place where witchcraft, hauntings, and everything that goes bump in the night feel right at home. Just as Santa Clause, Indiana, is a place where the spirit of Christmas is alive and well yearlong, Salem is a town where it's always Halloween no matter what time of the year you visit.

This serene and beautiful coastal town makes for the perfect day trip destination if you're visiting Boston, but you could easily make an entire trip out of your visit if you prefer. Salem was made famous, or rather infamous, by the Salem Witch Trials, which took place in February of 1692.

This series of dark and disturbing events has captivated the world to this day. 20 innocent people were executed during this awful chapter in Salem's history for their supposed connection to witchcraft. For those that want to learn about this particularly depressing subject, Salem offers its visitors a wealth of information.

Aside from historical attractions that include live reenactments of the trials, Salem is also known for its phenomenal period architecture and top-notch museums. There are also a variety of wonderful bookshops, boutiques, and cafes to do business at in town as well.

Salem resident here. Come any time of the year, but not October! Long lines at attractions, restaurants, and even shops. Bumper to bumper traffic. We have plenty of Halloween even in April!

I don't usually comment, but I have to note here that when you were giving facts about the Salem Witch Museum, you were showing footage of a different museum called the Witch History Museum. Both are well worth seeing in Salem, but the SALEM WITCH MUSEUM is the granddaddy of them all, and located in a huge Gothic church across from the Salem Commons. You did not have footage of that building, but showed the Witch History Museum instead. Don't mean to be critical, but if you are going to make a video specifically of the Best Things to Do in Salem, you should at least get your facts and footage correct. Salem is a Special Place, and I wish everybody a great visit when they go. You will love it there!

At 3:34, you talk about the Salem Witch Museum but show footage of the Witch History Museum. The Witch Museum is on North Washington Square (Salem Common) while the Witch History Museum is on Essex Street, a 5-minute walk apart. Also, at 5:53, the year of the Witch Trials should be 1692.

Went here on school bus trips in the 1980s it was really lame. Much of the historical places are long gone. The place where some witches were hung is now a drug store parking lot.
