I have always LOVED Android, but after using the iPhone 13 Pro for a few weeks, for the first time ever, I've actually been considering making the switch permanantly.

I appreciate an Android vs. iPhone review that doesn't have that weird, partisan vibe that so many of these comparisons do. You stuck to objectivity. The only reason I don't consider Android options—and I know there are many good ones—is that I'm immersed in the Apple ecosystem and really like how seamlessly everything works together. Great job on the review, Sam.

I was really underwhelmed with all the phone releases this year. Was strongly considering the iPhone 12, mostly for that nice Pacific blue color, but then decided to hold off for the galaxy s22 ultra... But now I might hold off even longer to see what the iPhone 14 is going to be like. At this point, I might just have this s9+ till I die lol

I’ve been using Android phones since I first used a smartphone. A month ago I switched to iPhone 13 Pro as my daily device and couldn’t deny that the experience so far is AWESOME. I agree that Android has more fun but seriously IOS is so smooth and the performance is so optimised to the point that I think this is how a smartphone is supposed to be. Now that I can understand why some of the brands are copying more and more features from IOS. I think I’m gonna stick with IOS

Time for the switch. Done with android. Had enough of consistent lags and jitters in normal usage just within 2 years of usage. However, i love the display on my samsung & content consumption is amazing.

As someone who just switched to an iPhone 13 pro max from a oneplus 7t I couldn’t have put it better myself. The few iterative software features really closed the gap and the switch has been far more seamless than I thought it would be

this guy is the only person that says good things about iPhone whilst being on Andriod

Your intro to this video was my exact thoughts on switching to iOS. I’ve been on android for about 10 years and before that I was on windows mobile lol I’ve always steered clear of having iPhones but this year the software and hardware was damn compelling. On top of that some family members and close friends have iPhones so that made having iMessage and FaceTime worthwhile features. My last Android device was the Google Pixel 4. On the Pixel, I loved the display, cameras, Google assistant, and the machine learning. I used to be heavy into the customization but these last couple of years I just want my phone to work and be reliable. On the Pixel I got really tired of the bad battery life and having to turn off features including the 90hz display and noticed that a lot of the features have comparable features on iOS, for example the gestures and multitasking. I do miss the Google assistant especially when it was helping with spam callers, prescreening unknown callers, and letting me know when I’m not on hold anymore. I miss having trusted devices and locations, especially during the pandemic and having to where a mask. I prefer Android Auto over CarPlay. I don’t like how Google maps and YouTube music work on iOS and CarPlay compared to how it does on android but that’s probably google’s programmers more than it has to do with iOS. But what I do like about the iPhone and what I’m impressed with is the battery life, the camera, display, and no compromises with features to have a days worth of battery. I don’t mind when a notification goes from the quick view to the Notification Center. Face ID has wider integration and works better than Google’s implementation. Safari browser has impressed me very much with the ability to have extensions on mobile. The speakers have been the most underplayed hardware aspects. They are so rich and LOUD. I was watching a show on HBO Max and felt so immersed with the display and stereo speakers. Apple Pay has been a slightly more pleasant experience but nothing major over Google Pay. I’ve always used 3rd party password managers and Authenticators but Apple has Keychain which does both in one at the system level which means no extra apps but I’ve had to do the long process of manually adding all my credentials to Keychain. And lastly I like how widgets work on iOS better lol

For me personally, getting an iPhone wasn't even an option before I could have more than 60hz. Got the 13 pro a couple weeks ago as my first iPhone though, and I must say it is smooth but there are still features I miss from android.

I’m a 5 year long Samsung user and this week my iPhone 13 pro Max Will be delivered. Reason I switched the apps I mostly use aren’t working as they should on my s10+ and do work better on my iPad Pro that’s 2 years older. Also Apple devices are longer supported and beter than Android devices.

Same. I migrated to android after the iPhone 5s and have never looked back since. Until now.
I did pick up the Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra in the end and honestly the big thing on my list that's still missing from iPhone is fast charging (once you get used to it, you can't go back), but I do think that the iPhone 13 pro max will end up being the phone of the year.
Regardless of the new Pixel coming out.

Wow, you actually took the words out of my mouth. I just bought an iPhone Pro 13 Max after not really loving the way the Pixel 6 Pro handles photos and so many of the points you made are what went into my decision making to switch to iPhone for the first time. I've been exclusively using Android phones since the "OG" Moto Droid in 2009.

In the past few years Android manufacturers instead of doing stuff to make themselves unique and different to Apple have followed nearly everything they've done. From following their lead on headphone jacks, expandable storage, flagship price blowups, and even software decisions. However Apple in that time has embraced some of things that Android phones did or did well... like remember when it never seemed like wireless charging would make it to iPhones? There's now very few hardware features I can be like "Yeah I really can't live with X".. the lightning port was the biggest downside but with the battery life and wireless charging I'm not really anticipating it being a major issue.

I've always admired how insanely smooth, fast, and optimized iOS is. The camera is a great example, I can't remember where I saw it but even on the S21 ultra there is STILL shutter lag. You hit that shutter button and half a second later the photo is taken. There are so many times that my wife (iPhone 11) and me are taking a picture of our cat making a face or doing something funny and by the time my camera launches, takes the pic, I've missed it... even if I actually hit the shutter before it ended.. while the iPhone has a clear, frozen shot.

I'm sure I'll find out flaws and stuff on iOS that will drive me nuts as well and there's a chance I'll be back on Android sooner than later.. I think the one potential silver bullet Android manufacturers have is foldables though. These will eventually be the standard. People want bigger, bigger, and bigger and we're at the normal candybar limit. They're rough now but they're getting closer to being legit options.. and I think it's likely that Apple will drag their feet and not have a foldable iPhone years into foldables taking a sizeable marketshare of new Android purchases.

Migrated to Android since the iPhone 5, now I'm back on the 13 pro and it's leaps ahead in optimization

Why I still can't make the switch : USB C, Notchless displays, Deep and easy customization, APKs, Back button, Fingerprint sensor and freedom

Recently made the switch back to iPhone after 5 years with the Pixel and I must say, no regrets. The iPhone 13 Pro Max is great.

Best review ever, and no droid heads or ios fanboys that will try to fight you. I see it exactly the same ad you. But yeah the pixel 6 will have comparisons out soon and the samsung s22 Ultra in February, so until then . I held an iphone 13 today and I really like it, I think the the look and feel caught me, it was really nice. Yet I am afraid to loose my customization and I am a power user as far as tinkering on a phone is concerned, I love my truck load of multitasking features and the back gestures so let's see what the pixel and the samsung does next
