Great interview! I think it's great to have doctors who have chronic conditions themselves because then they really understand that even if a patient isn't dying, their condition still really affects their life.

As a last year resident in A/I (in europe) I’m a bit surprised the lack of mention of drug allergies and drug desensitizations as it is one of our largest and most important tasks in the hospital setting. There was mention of food allergies, but no mention of food desensitization. I say it as a constructive criticism, since I think prospective residents like and should know about this aspect of the specialty. All in all it was a great interview!

Sub specialty could be MCAS. It’s surprising how hard it is to find allergy immunologists that deeply understand mast cells, test and treat MCAS specifically. Everyone seems most concerned about histamine, skin prick and food allergies and not all the other conditions that arise from in appropriate mast cell activation. Which is much more common in the post covid world.
