NC 50 looks great actually. I feel like that mixed with a little bit of blue to cancel out the orange will actually be really good

as an ulta employee i honestly hate having to match ppl to mac bc of how badly they oxodize and as they get deeper they just get so orange... ppl with brown skin deserve more depth and range than just ORANGE

I think NC55 was perfect for her..atleast on camera. It showed to have a peachy undertone which would be perfect to cancel out hyperpigmentation. But then again, Mac oxidize like crazy so i guess mixing a lighter shade would have to do. I swear all brown girls are chemists at this point in makeup department 🤣

NC55 looks the best imo❤
She said it's too orange
But guys remember the camera does not absorb light same as the mirror❤

Iirc, Mac does their labeling differently. NC is yellow/warm toned and NW is pink/cool toned. The Mac person should have recommended NW shades for you.

NW, neutral warm, Mac always formulates to cancel the undertone. Try NW shade. MAC was meant for stage makeup. So they would want the canvas to look as monotone as possible so that the rest of the colours pop

I feel your struggle 😭. As a mint-undertoned brown person I can almost find a foundation match; even the olive-toned ones pull warmer than my actual skin. Pretty much have to resort to using your LA Colors blue mixer hack every time I decide to go through the trouble of putting foundation on at all.

No that's olive undertone skin problems! I have an olive undertone and it's a struggle!

As a 34yo brown skin Black woman, I can attest that MAC has been there for me since the early 2000s, lol. NC45 Studio Fix!✨

If it oxidizes then put the lightest shade you have there on and wait for it match

This is the first time ever that your foundation matched your face.
First time ever. Never before.
I’m not even joking. I’ve never seen you look not ashy a little bit after foundation. You look beautiful but the ashy is visible.
This is sooo good you look amazing here

I have gotten shade matched at a lot of makeup stations and my best (one I use currently) was by Lancôme. I almost cried with how well it suited me. Their neutrals are as close to true neutrals as I have experienced.

At least they tried. They have shades in-between shades so that’s cool.

I agree with the comments maybe NW or a different undertone would work better or at least work better as a mixer

Girl I feel you! It’s not just brown girl problems! I can NEVER get a decent shade match for my skin in a majority of foundations! Now I’ve resigned myself to the fact I have to buy two shades! So I usually get a deeper shade and a lighter shade in a neutral undertone and mix through the year as my skin tone changes between summer and winter. It’s the only saving grace I have that my skin (like pretty much most people) changes from summer to winter so I can sort of justify it 🤷‍♀️

It's also an OLIVE GIRL problem too. Not only do i have to mix 2 shades, sometimes i have to add blue or yellow correctors too. But companies are SLOWLY getting better.

if you want a different undertone from Mac, get the NW colors. All the ones you have are NC which are warm.

I feel you girl! I used to buy their white Face & Body foundation and mix it in to all my foundations to get them pale enough as no one had light enough foundations. It was a total life saver, but luckily it has gotten so much easier to find a wider range of shades in a lot of brands.

Add blue color corrector to fix the orange if you have an olive undertone.

As a light olive but with a hint of grey I never found a match in mac store, I mix my foundation since I was 18 and I’m 34
