Flop of the Week: The New Porsche 992.2

The Porsche 992.2 has been announced and it has it's problems. While it's cool technology, it comes with some MAJOR downsides. Aesthetically, it's got these giant shark fins in the front grill, but there's more to it than that.

Coming in 100 lbs heavier than the previous PDK transmission, the 992.2 will have NO manual transmission! Why? Because it's going hybrid. Additionally, holy smokes is this thing expensive ($170k base price),

This is incorrect information. The base and the S are keeping the same engine, and Porsche never said they weren’t going to offer those with manual transmissions.

Keep in mind the weight increase is actually more than advertised since a rear seat is no longer standard and is a no cost option. The weight figure from Porshe is being calculated without a back seat.

I think this is more click bait now. Maybe you thought watered cooled engine suck also, but yet here we are.

Great point and this is the downfall of all this emissions stuff. They claim it's better for the environment but more materials are used because they don't last and never will. No one has common sense making theses policies it's all a word salad.

Only the GTS is hybrid for now. Base model gets a manual. They're talking that the turbo will get a manual too.

I can't wait to see what Porsche charges for an e-turbo and an electric motor-equipped PDK. Imagine a digital electric motor packed next to a turbine with hot exhaust gas flowing through it, I'm sure that won't have a giant failure rate in year four.

Also, Doug, there has been no meaningful change in CO2 emissions over the previous car. This means that all of this has been done to differentiate the Carreras with a turbo from the true Turbo cars.

My guess is that the next Carrera T will have a manual and a slight power bump from the base car, and the C2S and C4S will both make 480hp. This leaves a nice gap between the three cars.

Yup, that’s a bigger flop than I can flip out, even more so if wearing thick underwear
