Backup
In information technology, a backup, or data backup is a copy of computer
data taken and stored elsewhere so that it may be used to restore the
original after a data loss event.
Backups can be used to recover data after its loss from data deletion
or corruption, or to recover data from an earlier time.
Backup Type
Normal / full backup
Copy
Incremental
Differential
Daily
Normal / Full backup:
-Backs up selected files, and marks each file as backed up.
Copy:
-Backs up selected files, but does not mark any as backed up.
Incremental
-Backs up selected files only if they were created or modified
since the previous backup.
Differential
-Backs up selected file only if they were created or modified since the previous backup, but does not mark them as backed up
Daily
-Backs up only files that were created or modified today
