Pixel 6 / 6 Pro: Stuck in Boot Loop, Keeps Restarting? Easy Fixes

I show you how to fix a Google Pixel 6 or 6 Pro phone that is stuck in a boot loop where it keeps restarting over and over again (keeps turning off and on). You legitimately just saved me so much by the tap method, I never would've thought of that and it worked perfectly

1:00 hold power button and volume button for 20 seconds
1:47 spam power button but not too quick
2:30 put on charge and hold power button and volume button
3:30 use two fingers to tap around front and back of phone, to put any dislodged pieces back into place. Again, press power button and volume button for 20s
5:00 massage phone with thumbs front and back Again press power button and up volume button.
06:30 Smack the screen and back with palm. Again press power button and volume up.
7:08 if all fails, switch the phone off and put the phone in the freezer for 20 mins

I replaced my cracked screen and the phone immediately started the boot loop. I found this video, and tried the first few options with no success and the - WOW! I got to the massage option and it seems to have fixed mine. It stayed on for 20 minutes or so, and I shut it down and rebooted, and it has not looped again so far. Thanks!!

I spent a couple days trying everything as I was not willing to lose my data with a factory reset. The only thing that ended up working for me was using Android sdk tools to install an ota update to the newest android BETA version. I tried an ota of a stable current version and it didn't work, had to be the 15 beta. Hope this helps someone

Thank you very much for the help! My phone would not turn on, I could get to the security screen but upon swiping my code, the screen would go dark and turn off I think. It would sit that way for about a minute before the Google logo would appear and repeat. The first solution fixed it for me and my phone turns on again!

I can confirm this works for pixel 3a. Boot loop going crazy and tried everything. It would sometimes get to the loading bar and then shut off to try booting again, mostly would get to the spinning logo and then shut off though. Nothing worked at all but the crazy spamming of the power button did it. I thought I was pressing it fast and it didn’t work. Once I went into turbo mode in spamming the power button, that sure enough got it through the boot cycle. You sir are a champion and deserve your place upon the pantheon of YouTube phone tip hero’s.

I fixed it! It still runs hot, so I will replace it, but it isn’t urgent anymore.

Just doing every process once fixed it!! I was so frustrated that cleaning the charging port wasn't doing anything and I didn't have enough storage to backup my phone to wipe it, all that matters is the phone tapping got it started and showed progress, and the freezer finished the job!!

When I got it out of the freezer at first it didn't seem fixed, but I restarted it and it said it's battery was dead, charged it and it booted up normally and I can comment on this video on my phone instead of an iPad!!

I was also sceptical when I saw this video at first, but it really is the problem with my device. If I press the top half of my phone, the touch input freezes. If i press the bottom half, it will work again. That is why it was unresponsive so many times I took it out of my pocket.

The issue is actually faulty contacts inside the device, not woodoo magic. I have recorded a video of the issue occuring an I will send the phone for replacement.

As ridiculous as it sounds, and I was really sceptical at first too, when you knock on the phone or press on it, it can temporarily fix (or break) the faulty contacts.

Additionally, if I hard reset my phone when it was in the frozen state, it got stuck in a boot loop a few times as well.

To be clear, it is not a good fix, because pressing on faulty contacts could make them even worse if done repeatedly, but you should be able to return the device for a fix or replacement.
