11th May 2024 and a team of helpers assisted Barry in installing the now canvased wings of this 1941 built De Havilland Tiger Moth. At one stage during its life It was converted to a crop duster with a full enclosed canopy. Barry acquired the aircraft has restored the aircraft (his 7th and "final") to how it was manufactured. It has a colour combination of British racing green, a vellum, and silver wings.
On Saturday the 18th of February 2023, during the night, I took a series of photographs where the aircraft was assembled but without canvas on it. We called it "The Naked Moth" The hanger, come studio, took 2 days to set up with black state backdrops, and a shallow pond to create the reflections underneath the aircraft. It took 3,000 litres of precious water to fill the pond sufficiently. It as a mammoth effort, and somewhat costly that weekend.
