Baekhyun means "closest friend". She can be friendly and nice to everyone but not to the point of giving them her full trust specially that she's so young, there's a lot of predators out there and some just want to use her for their own benefit and will leave her if she ever get into a problem. In short, she need to choose her "close friends" wisely and also strenghten her bond with her members.😅

The K-pop industry is bright and shine only outside. The reality is really dark: agressive competition between idols, sexual harassment, sexual predators, depression, isolation, crazy high pressure, unrealistic expectations, stupid fans and haters etc etc. EXO after 12 years have seen everything so Baek advise is super smart. Creating real bonds with team members, ability to relay and trust them no matter what abd being extremely careful with other celebrities is most important to survive. It does not mean you shouldn't be nice and friendly - it's means you should make only real friendship. EXO are definitely the best seniors because they survived and they are stronger every year.

As an eris, baekhyun gave baby eunchae the best advice. This dark industry exploit young innocent idols (most esp girls) like her, even the most sought after popular 'celebrities' (ex. Seungri, Jung Joon-young, Kris Wu, etch). She may make friends but she HAS to be 10x vigilant about her new friends' intentions and real personalitiess

he didn't tell her to not make celebrity friends at all, he said "don't make a lot of celebrity friends" which means she needs to choose her circle carefully because not everyone is a good person in this industry and someone might try to take advantage of her especially when she's still a literal kid with a little experience.

The fact some people tried to hate on Baekhyun for giving Manchae this advice as if he hasn't been in the industry for over a decade and doesn't know how it operates is crazy to me. It was a reminder to Eunchae, who's only 16 and hasn't been in the industry long, and all of us that while K-pop may appear to be glamorous at a surface level, it's a cruel, toxic environment on the inside, especially for idols as young as Eunchae, and that many idols aren't good people like they present themselves to be on camera.

Honestly, he gave the best advice. I saw many antis and other fandoms dragged him for saying this but k-pop industry is not candies and daisies as they all think it is. People forget that when EXO debuted, half of them were still minors or freshly turned 18 and were sexualised A LOT (under Min Heejin btw). They know what kind of people the industry is full of. Even 2nd gen female idols used to advice then freshly debuted female idols to 'stay away' from seniors coz they will be exposed to unwanted advances. Senior artists have made weird comments for female idols on national tv, what makes you think they are not doing it behind the closed doors?

He gave the BEST advice to her as a senior and big brother. It may sound like a joke or whatever, but it's a bitter TRUTH. Just a mistake or wrong choice of making buddies, any idol's career can be at the stake!
He's so damn RIGHT about that.
