If there is a general desire for Maye to play, then we should be pounding the table for Robinson and Wallace to play.

Nick, may I suggest you take a look at a basic, single input audio interface and a decent large diaphragm condenser microphone? It'll cost you a few hundred dollars, but it'll do wonders for the audio quality of your podcasts.

A Focusrite Scarlette interface is about $100. Add a decent XLR cable at $25. Then an AKG Large Diaphragm mic (model 3101H00430) can be had for under $200. For about $300, your voice audio quality will be massively improved.

It all hooks up to your computer via USB and the Focusrite interface has a headphone out.

Just a suggestion. Enjoying the Pats coverage.

Nick is right that Brisset didn’t dominate the Eagles second string. Maye was better and poised.

The acid test for Maye is: can he make the protection calls, ID the Mike, check to second play, audible to a different play…the mental side of the game. I like his footwork and ability to read it out against the most benign defenses (preseason NFL defenses). There’s so much more that he has to show the Offensive coaching staff before he’s ready to get out there. Watching a QB learn is not fun (think Peyton Manning in first year at Indy).

I cannot believe thev180 ° turn on Gregs take of Maye in a 2 friggin day span & Nick getting as far away from Bedards that Maye might not good enough or ready enough to be able to play this spirts media are a bunch of asshats who sound like complete fools when they try to justify their ridiculously incorrect evaluations. Bedard looks n sounds like a fool on everything involving Drake Maye and his progression

On Maye, I feel like AVP is being over-cautious because once u put drake in u cannot take him out without causing an uproar from a variety of sources. Let him sit, and when it is evident that he is ready u put him in it is simple. even if he is better mentally and physically than Jacoby right now, why not let Jacoby get the chance to improve his value for a future trade/provide an nfl example/let drake learn the week-to-week of the nfl, even if it is only for a few weeks. I just don't get the splitting reps/start drake week one hype

Props to Greg for calling an early take of his garbage. No one is perfect, so happy to move on.

Do we have any idea when Cole Strange is set to return? Will he play at all this year?

If he does play, he’s an automatic plug in, right? Does he go to guard? He’s 6’5” 310 - any flexibility on where he could end up assuming he’s back?

Greg,

How long are you going to leave those old notes on your white board? It's approaching Guiness Book of World Records territory!

Greg - Interested in your opinion on which Tackles may become available after other teams camp cuts

Baker has to be better. He could vanish if he doesn’t get it sorted out against Washington.

Have to point out that Baker had Lazar, Barth, Kines salivating on draft day. At the same time, Polk was just Jacoby Myers, despite being a lot quicker in the 40. So, in reality, a faster Myers…oh….that’s pretty good.

Gregg, we all were hard on Maye after the Carolina no show. So yes we can feel a little better now. Doubtful that Maye needed that more than Boston Media. That’s said your criticism of the Oline is warranted. It’s the reason the Patriots will draft high again next year. It will be the issue again this year. Fix the line first please.

The constant discussion about Maye starting over Brisset is annoying. Drake Maye had maybe 20 snaps or more against the second and third string eagles' defense, and everyone's pants have gotten 2 sizes tighter. We don't know what they have planned for Maye this Sunday against the Commanders, he could play the whole game, a quarter, two quarters, we don't know. Maye has not shown enough yet to be having this discussion. Not only have they not played their 3rd preseason game yet, but hasn't played a single regular season game. Bottom line is, I could understand if it is game 3 or 4 of the regular season and they have not given Maye a shot at nothing at all, whether it's practice or games. I say it now and I'll say it later, if you are walking around with your pitch forks demanding he start over one little portion of a preseason game, and he gets out there and s***'s the bed, please don't blame the coaches.

OT/G Dennis Daley for Calvin Anderson. I made the same comment to the Nick Cattles Show yesterday.

1. You should of brought Josh back to be OC in my opinion. He isn’t a great head coach, but he’s one of the best OC’s in football. Not just cause of what he did with Brady, but he got the most out of Mac and he has the ability to tailor a system to the player which is the way good coaches run things. I’m not saying AVP isn’t going to work I just don’t think it was the best option they had.
2. They fucked up the whole summer not splitting real 1st team reps in a 60/40 or 65/35 way. But realistically the target should be to have him ready to start week 5. You get through the 9ers game, bangles game, and the @jets game.

Also if you play Maye and he shows flashes you then can see if the Aiyuk trade can be restarted being that you’d have a young QB with promise that will draw the attention of a real player on the outside

Greg, I think you've said this in other fora: the problem with Maye not getting reps is mostly developmental, not the "spirit of competition." Brissett is the starter, fine; but the problem is that 1) once the season starts, that snap disparity is locked in. and 2) once the seasons ENDS there is no chance for Maye to work with coaching staff again until OTAs (because it's against the rules). That part bothers me in regard to their plan.

Why can't we sign the tackle who played with Kansas City last year? The guy is only 30 years old. Yes he takes a lot of penalties, but that can be coached.

Play all the rookies except Maye this year and focus on 2025 and beyond. He is 21 and has very little football experience. The other QBs taken this year all have a few years on Drake. Relax and focus on what is important to the franchise, 2025 and beyond.
