Disney Fantasy, Southern Caribbean Cruise, July 2024. Embarkation Day! Join us for a 10-night sailing on the beautiful Disney Fantasy!
We are so excited to share this vlog series. The Disney Fantasy is our very favorite among all the Disney ships. This trip was a celebration of our 20th wedding anniversary and was our first Pearl sailing!
Day two was a sea day and as we always say, sea days are some of the very best days! We made our way to Cabanas for breakfast where we enjoyed a variety of items including omelets, eggs Benedict, donuts and pastries, fresh fruits, yogurt and more. We love the variety of offerings.
We explored the ship as we waited for the Princess Gathering. The Fantasy is a beautiful ship with peacock theming throughout the atrium. From the carpeting to the flooring and even the chandelier. We truly love the ambiance. The Princess Gathering is a ticketed event that is booked 30 days prior to sailing. We prefer to book an early time to see we can see the princesses arrive. We met Rapunzel, Tiana, Cinderella and Belle. We spotted Daisy in her princess attire on deck 4 and couldn't resist the photo op. We definitely recommend being on the lookout for characters. While there are scheduled photo op times, there are also chance interactions. We spotted so many characters throughout the day from Stitch to Mulan!
The kids enjoyed the pool deck where they watched movies on the Funnel Vision and dined at the quick service locations. We headed for Palo Brunch, a definite cruise must! The ocean views from Palo are lovely and the atmosphere is both relaxed and refined. We sampled the breads and pastries and shared an antipasto platter to start with. On one of our most recent cruises, we discovered the celery and tomato soups. Those have both now become must-dos. Eggs Benedict at Palo is unmatched elsewhere. The rosemary ham and freshly made English muffin are so rich and flavorful. Although we were already quite full, we had to share the flatbread. We requested half grape and gorgonzola and half spicy Italian sausage. We wished we could take the leftovers for later! The highlight of the meal was the lasagna. For dessert, we opted to share the chocolate fondant, a rich chocolatey dish that is a fantastic way to end a great meal. Our server made brunch even more special by bringing us a decorated plate in celebration of our 20th wedding anniversary.
We spent our afternoon relaxing and then readied for formal night. The evening was full of activities which included photo opportunities, the Captain's reception, Aladdin and dinner at Animator's Palate. We met Minnie in her peacock inspired dress, unique to the Fantasy. We also had photos taken on the staircase and by the Minnie statue before showtime. Aladdin is one of the very best Broadway-style shows at sea and we absolutely loved the Genie!
The menu at Animator's Palate has some of our favorite cruise foods. We were seated near a screen and were excited to get to see Crush. Later in the meal we had some time for interacting with him. For our starters, we had the black truffle pasta purseittes and the serrano ham with Manchego cheese. The butternut squash and baked potato and cheddar soups were delicious. The kids ordered mac and cheese for their main dishes while we had the lemon thyme chicken and the pasta. Dessert is the best part of any course! We had the sundae, lemon icebox pie and the cheesecake and all were fantastic.
Our sea day was such a full day, and we were sad to see it come to an end. After dinner, Tim and the kids headed up to the pool deck to enjoy some movie time on the Funnel Vision. We certainly hope you enjoyed the vlog as we enjoyed sharing out day with you!
Onward to our next adventure!
