I really do understand what you're talking about. When you push your channel to just satisfy the algorithm it really does burn you out. Thank God i have people like yourself that have lightened the burden of the grind since we communicate or have communicated on a more personal level. Always remember that your channel has pushed me for more quality as I chugged along. I have leaned on some of your experience and I want to thank you! Good luck with everything... That's why I stopped being a "YouTuber", and focused more on the aspect of creating what I love to do. I combined 5 different channels to this 1. I've always loved your shorts! I absolutely cannot wait to see them and the documentation of the films!

I too used to watch the analytics all the time, to the point I was just obsessed and bummed out when things didn't work out. Now I just create what I like to, and either it works out, or bombs, which is fine! Not everything is perfect, and not everything will succeed. I think I've watched every single short film, and I know 1 of the recent shorts I wasn't able to watch, where I tried to watch, but it would blank out and then stop working, and I think that was youtubes issue, then eventually I forgot, "Elysia" was the one.

I think YouTube is also some of the cause of why some videos are not being pushed out properly or codec errors, or generally any error really on the coding side. But yeah, I'm excited! Been watching this channel now for a few years! I think my first short I watched from you was "Out of my League".

I know the feeling my channel has changed niches over the years.
I wanted to try to make my own web series at first, then just started throwing stuff to see what would stick, then went into dead retail but as funds dried up and then the pandemic I tried vlogs and then gaming but my true passion is retro gaming so I started doing that.
I would rather do what I enjoy doing then make something I hate just to appease the algorithm .b

Dude i relate to everything you are saying ugh I have spent way too much time over analyzing the analytics myself. I too have slowed way down. Gotta keep up the film making bro, that IS the best thing you do.

I can relate to this so much. As a writer, I sacrificed so much of my fiction writing time to run a blog about writing. Now that I'm into game design, I'm sacrificing a lot of design time to making the videos about gaming. But since I actually enjoy the gaming channel, I keep doing it. Either way, just keep following your freelance dreams.

You deserve the great appreciation with the films you release. And yes YT is a sacrifice for an artist or any professional out there. Focusing on film making rather than YT content is the right thing for you.
