I think McLaren's run of throwing away wins is due to them not being used to fighting at the very front like they can now, they could challenge for podiums and high scoring positions before, but they haven't been a race winning team in the ground effect era until now. They will most likely only get better

I'm a piastri fan. When mclaren botched piastri's strat I didn't even notice right away cuz after a mercedes front row lock out and Lewis claiming he was going to fight for a win I was so excited to see him fight for a win let alone actually get the win.

fun fact I just learned, Checo's contract has 2 performance clauses in it. One says that he shouldn't be more than 100 points behind Max after the Belgian GP. The other one says he musnt be more that 5 spots behind Max in the WDC. he might have that contract thrown out soon

The thing about the race was is that it was really good and exciting but it definitely wasn’t the “Race of the year” compared to Canada it was definitely less advent full. The only reason people are calling it the race of the year is because it was the best win and most meaningful for a driver. But the race of the year means race and it wasn’t the best race we have had but the best story we had.
