$1 Old Delhi Street Food Tour! What to Expect? Foreigners try Indian Street Food for the first time

Indian street food is famous worldwide! The moment we landed in Delhi, we knew that we had to try authentic Indian street food. In this video, we will show you what to expect from a guided street food tour in Old Delhi, India 🇮🇳

The taste of Indian street food is cheap! Even though all the food was included in the guided food tour, we were very cautious about the prices. The bites are small, and most items cost around $1 only! Your wallet remains light, stomach gets heavy, and your tastebuds work overtime! 🔥

A lot of rich Indian street food can be found in the area of Chandni Chowk (Old Delhi). For us, it was a crazy and overwhelming experience! We would definitely recommend booking a guided tour if it's your first time in Delhi, India.

Also, just a disclaimer, we were not paid or given anything for free in order to share our food experience.

We booked with the company: Driver India Private Tours

We book for two people and paid ₹4,975.00 (app. $60) for each person for Private Delhi Tours over two days which include a hotel pickup/drop off, local guide, transportation, Rickshaw ride, and food:

1) The Walking Tour & Food Tour of Old Delhi - Duration: app. 4 Hours - Cost: ₹3,200.00 (39 USD) per person

2) New Delhi & Historical Attraction Tour - Duration: app. 4 Hours - Cost: ₹1,775 (21 USD) per person

Keep in mind, this video only covers the Old Delhi Street Food Tour, which includes 6 street food items (Samosa, Jalebi, Paratha, Chana Bhatura, Gol Gappa or Pani Puri, and Rasgulla).

But we asked "Lassi" and "Kulfi" to be inserted into our itinerary and was not charged any additional cost 👍 Many tours in India are very flexible, so we recommend you tell them your personal preferences. It's so cheap, so it wouldn't hurt your wallet to pay for your own lassi and kulfi. No no no... 🤤

We took a Rickshaw ride through the narrow streets of Old Delhi and got off at Khari Baoli to experience one of Asia's biggest spice markets. It was great walking through the life of real India.

WHAT FOODS TO EXPECT?

1. Samosa - $0.50 cents

We tried samosa, which is one of India’s most popular snacks at the Saini Refreshment. One samosa costs only $0.50 cents.

2. Jalebi - App. $0.75 cents

Jalebi is one of the most popular desserts in India. We visited The Old Famous Jalebi Wala, and they have no other branch. The price depends on how many grams. For one small piece, you can expect to pay around $0.75 cents.

3. Paratha - $1.2 USD per plate

Paratha is a pan-fried Indian flatbread made with whole wheat flour. We visited a shop called: Parawthe Wala. The location is hidden in the valley. The paratha was served with green chili inside on a plate with different sauces. One plate is around $1.2 USD and keeps the belly full.

4. Lassi - $90 cents

Lassi is an Indian yogurt–based beverage and in my opinion, the best street food of this tour! Disclaimer: Lassi was not part of the itinerary, but it's right next door in front of the Parawthe Wala shop. You can enjoy this for only $0.90 cents.

5. Chana Bhatura - $1.5 USD

Chana Bhatura is fluffy fried bread with spiced chickpea curry! India is famous for curry, and chickpeas. This was the spiciest food we encountered on this tour, and the curry taste was at least times 50! It was very filling and cost only $1.50 USD per dish.

Trying Indian spices was free and part of the street food tour.

6. Gol Gappa or Pani Puri - Less than $1

Gol Gappa (or pani puri) is another popular bite
filled with potato, chickpeas, and spices, and drenched in sour and spicy mint-flavored water. We heard some locals call it "spicy water".

7. Kulfi - $0.50 cents

Kulfi is known as traditional Indian ice cream. Disclaimer: Kulfi was not part of the itinerary, but we saw a lot of Indians eating kulfi at Haldiram's. So we had to try!

8. Rasgulla - $0.50 cents per piece

Rasgulla is a soft ball that is soaked in sugar syrup at Haldiram's.
An Indian multinational sweet, snacks, and restaurant company.

Indian food flavours are always intense and complex. Mostly spicy or very sweet. Not bland .

OMG SEAN !!! When you ate that Rasgulla and made that face my wife HOLLERED!! I mean you had her laughing really hard but the one thing that we both couldn't figure out was why would take another bite? Look, Sean, we will continue to watch and support your channel just keep your honesty and facial expressions when you taste bad food. It helps us out tremendously and it makes us laugh as well.

That's what I'm talking about Sean and Nhi!!! I loved the India Street Food Tour!! So different and you step out of your comfort zones and don't just do Hawaii. I asked you this before, but does it discourage you that you don't get as much views as your Hawaii videos although it's just as awesome? I think you told me you don't care but that was a while ago. Anyhow, I love it.! Keep doing what you guys are doing!
