People like this still exist. I remembered one time I commented on some atheists group on Facebook. Someone who doesn’t like me, search my info and tell my father and mom that I’m hating towards Islam and they should teach me better and be ashame . They were very religious person. So I was so scared to death, I was thinking unaliving myself and then my mother came towards me. She knows and whatever I do. I still her son. So she still love me. I was so happy and shocked with her words. I thought I would be get killed.

While this person's actions were terrible and his anger misplaced, I can see that he was emotional about the children and didn't know where else to put his blame. As a child, I found a stone pebble and deemed it sacred, believing that if I lost or neglected it, misfortune would ensue, but if I cared for it, all would be well. I thought a spirit dwelled within, offering guidance and support. Growing older, I abandoned this belief for Islam, attributing my well-being to Allah. However, I eventually recognized that, like my madeup childhood religion, Islam too was a construct of faith, akin to my belief in the existence of superheroes like Batman and Spiderman. In the end, I realized that what I once held as sacred truths were, in fact, myths.

I'm a new subscriber from your collar with Genetically Modified Skeptic and it's crazy to me just how different Muslim apologists react to ex-muslims compared to Christians apologists. Since I live in the USA, most of the atheist content I consume is based on Christianity cause that's what the main religion is in this country. I'm looking forward to hearing more about the perspective of an ex-muslim.

These are the levels of threats that we in the Judeo-Christian west don't generally face. Even in the most conservative Bible Belt American small towns, believers are generally not going to physically threaten or stalk or terrorize apostates or their family like this. The worst that is generally done is shunning and character assassination, MAYBE lost job opportunities in some limited circles which in the end are easily overcome even by just moving to a larger metropolitan area. Obviously, Aladdin has had to develop a GREAT amount of empathy and maturity to deal with these extremists as well as he has seemed to. He's young enough and savvy enough to know how to effectively communicate and retain his dignity and humanity.
