You would think that after six weeks, 6641 miles, and the same two mission talks that things would start to get old. The reality is that each stop renews my commitment to this journey of evangelization.

Fr. Casey, can an Orthodox and a Catholic be friends? I think so! You are a blessing to me in ways you'll never realize! AND thank you for being such a blessing!

Hope you don't mind prayers from a Protestant, because you're getting them. <3

Good video Br. Casey! Ministry can be very diverse as you have said. I was a priest (well, technically still am, but you know how that goes...) and an Army chaplain. Jesuit for a while, then a Diocesan, and then got outed in the worst possible way in the military. Now I am out in the civilian world, working and have a 'regular' job. Once formed as a priest but out of the priesthood, we still have hearts for ministry. I don't know if anyone has ever asked what happens to us. Well, ministry and evangelization comes from what God has made us to be, not a title, so many of us continue to help others as we can. No one has ever asked how we do that, since we can't perform in a sacramental way within the boundaries of the Church. Guess what - we constantly encounter people who are likely to never cross the threshold of a church! God still impels those with a heart us to assist those communities with at least a listening ear. I have been of service to people in so many communities of people fearful of the Church. Addicts and alcoholics, homeless, the LGBT, ex-cons, the regular guy on the street. Not by being a 'priest' which often drives them away, but by being a well formed, trained, loving person. Evangelization and ministry never get old because God hides in all the nooks and crannies of peoples lives. Whether they come to church or not, God is found in the people who are so often voiceless and unknowing of anything else. People like me help them discover how to listen to God in their lives, even when they don' t know how to hear. Ministry can be uncomfortable when God is found in odd corners. It might require a person who fits in those otherwise odd corners. Thanks again, hope you enjoyed Cincinnati. I grew up a few miles to the north. Boy is it muggy! 😊

Additionally, where can I send a donation? I have ordered your book, and am extremely excited awaiting it's arrival. The good Lord has given to me, and I don't mind sharing in your ministry even if I'm Orthodox and you a Catholic...our shared blessings are too many to keep to ourselves!

I hear ya on taking road trips alone. It's better to share it with someone. I had a friend back in the day who I used to take road trips with. We would take any road we could find, get lost and find our way out. You discover a lot about yourself that way. It was a blast! I miss that guy and I hope he's doing well wherever he is. I find when I'm driving alone that's when I do my best thinking about life, music, art...my recent trip garnered some interesting thoughts on science and God...I should write this stuff down someday.... Anyway, thanks for the video! I'm glad your road trip is going well!!

I know you tour to see people and not buildings but if you ever get back to Cincinnati, you should see the Cathedral in Covington which is just across the river from Cincinnati. It makes you feel God’s presence just by walking in the door.
