You will find this simple formula correct. It's also easy to apply practically in everyday life whenever you find yourself buying woods. But if you want to make it difficult but has the same result like some commenters here want, you convert the element foot to inches and make your divisor 144 instead of 12.

Wrong girl a bd ft is 12"×1"×12" so any in ft should be multiplied in 12 then divide by 144. This should enlightened your mind.. the engineer here..

LOL.... what kind math it is, you cant multiply inches to ft. Before doing it all the terms should same either in inches or ft and also the denominator should also be in same term, here is the correct explanation. BF = ( 2 x 6 x 48)/144 ....(convert all the terms in inches or feet) Ans is = 4 BF, though the answer is same but the solution isn't correct.
